UK'S MOST BORED TOWNS EXPOSED AS TIKTOK STAR URGES PEOPLE TO 'HAVE FUN'

If you live in one of these places, you are officially in one of the UK's most bored cities. Some towns saw as many as 90% of residents say they are not having any fun in their everyday lives.

New research has found that over 80% of Brits feel like they are bored as they are left stuck in the rigmarole of their daily routine. However, the outside environment is not helping with the UK weather found to be a major contributor to worsening the lack of energy.

But now, one of TikTok's most popular stars has stepped in to try and get the nation back to feeling fun once again. She admitted that even she herself finds ways to keep her everyday life fun by inventing little games for her normal tasks.

Figures from a survey produced by Tombola found that several cities right across the UK are incredibly bored. Nottingham tops the list with as many as 94% of residents feeling like their everyday life is not as fun as it was.

Sheffield, Leeds and Liverpool are also incredibly high, with 90% of residents feeling like they are bored with their daily routine. Meanwhile cities like Brighton ranked high on the feeling that life was not as fun as it used to be and is now needing a break.

In an attempt to break the vicious cycle of boredom gripping Brits, TikTok icon Grime Gran — real name Margaret Keefe, 87 — is collaborating with Tombola to tell Brits to turn their everyday errands into a chance for some quick fun with "everyday games". It comes as no surprise that Brits are already loving the idea, with around two in five Brits admitting they turn chores into games that help inject a bit of liveliness to their day.

Speaking to the Daily Star, Grime Gran said she has already taken up some new ways to make her normal activities more fun, keeping in line with Tombola's campaign to turn boring daily chores into "everyday games". She explained that together with her grandson Beau, she is trying to bring some extra energy to her home.

Opening up on what she does to keep things exciting, Margaret revealed she will put the kettle on and whilst its boiling, Beau will run up and down the stairs doing all the easy jobs that need to be done before the kettle goes off. When asked about the need to keep things fresh, she said keeping things fun was the most important thing.

"Every day I go out cause I make sure I walk a lot. I think walking keeps you very fit and active," she admitted.

"You have to have fun during the day, otherwise look how boring it's going to be. If you don't make games every day otherwise the normal everyday life just gets to you and becomes very boring."

And with research saying that more and more Brits are taking on a game-ified version of their normal routines, Grime Gran is not the only one who is trying new things to keep their lives interesting, according to figures from Tombola.

Research found that couples are getting involved in some friendly rivalries, with nearly a third (31%) of Brits admitting they try to spice things up in their most boring daily moments. Some Brits are even going to extremes as they head to bizarre events, including the iconic Coopers' Hill cheese rolling competition and even wheelbarrow racing.
